Note: Pattern is worked from the bottom up with raglan sleeves. It allows enough room to be worn over a long sleeve top, with the opening in the front or back.

YARN: #1, Finger weight, Superfine - about 1 oz
GAUGE : 22st = 3in 18 rows = 2in
KNITTING NEEDLES: three 7” doublepoint size #0 and seven 7” doublepoint size #2
YARN MARKERS: 4 – made from scrap yarn
SNAPS: 4 size 1/4” (6mm) – 100% Nylon are nice
BUTTONS: 4 size 1/4”
Suggested yarn: Bernat Sox

Sleeves (make 2): With size #0 needles, cast on 20 st. K1, P1 across
Row 2: K1, P1 across
Row 3: K1, P1 across
Change to size #2 needles.
Row 4: K20
Row 5: P20
Row 6: K20
Row 7: P20
Row 8: K1, M1, K18, M1, K1
Row 9: P22 (3” wide, 1” long)
Row 10: K22
Row 11: P22
Row 12: K1, M1, K20, M1, K1
Row 13: P24
Row 14: K24 - 3 1/4” wide, 1 1/12” long
Row 15: Bind off 1 st. P20. P2tog
Row 16: Bind off 1 st, K18, K2tog
Leave work on needle. Cut, leaving extra yarn for sewing. Using another needle, make a second sleeve. Cut, leaving extra yarn for sewing.

Body:
With size #0, cast on 63 st.
Row 1: K3, [p1, k1] to last 3 st. K3
Row 2: K4, [p1, k1] to last 3 st. K3
Row 3: K3, [p1, k1] to last 3 st. K3
Change to size #2 needles.
Row 4: K63
Row 5: K3, P57, K3
Row 6: K63
Row 7: K3, P57, K3
Row 8: K63
Row 9: K3, P57, K3 (8” wide, 1” high)
Row 10: K63
Row 11: K3, P57, K3
Row 12: K17, bind off 2st, K24, bind off 2st, K16
Row 13: K3, P14, with purl side facing, P10 from 1st sleeve (1st needle)
               Purl remaining 10 from sleeve                               (2nd needle)
               P25                                                                         (3rd needle)
               With purl side facing, P10 from 2nd sleeve           (4th needle)
               Purl remaining 10 from sleeve. P14, K3                 (5th needle)

Note: Give a little tug between last stitch of one needle and first stitch of the next needle to keep even gauge.

Row 14: Do not join. Turn work.
               K17, place marker, K10 (1st needle)

               K10. Place marker. K17      (5th needle)

Ssp (decreasing stitch) – Slip the first and second stitches one at a time knitwise with the right-hand needle, then slip them back onto the left-hand needle; insert the point of the right-hand needle through the back loops of the two stitches (going into the second stitch first) and purl them together as one stitch.

Row 26: K25, K26 on two needles, removing markers as you work.
Row 27: With size 0 needle, K4, [P2tog, K1]7 times, P1, K1, [Ssp, K1]7 times, K3
Row 28: K3, [P1, K1] across to last 3 st. K3
Row 29: With size 2 needle, bind off in rib.

Sew sleeves. Sew underarms. Sew 4 clear snaps on band of left front and band (wrong side) of right front.
Sew 4 small buttons on right front band if desired.
